The Blind Additions shutter collection consists of shutters made from Basswood, Faux wood, and now PVC. All of which give the classic plantation shutter a stylish and modern look.
Our shutters are available with a central operating rod or can be hand operated for ease of use.
Timber Plantation Shutters
Basswood (Tilia Americana ) is a special hardwood more commonly used to build precision musical instruments such as guitars or piano boards. However, its resistance to warping, along with its workability, durability and acceptance of a variety of finishes make it the perfect material for use in shutters. Basswood shutters are manufactures specifically for indoor use only.
Faux Wood Plantation Shutters
Faux wood is created from a Foamwood material and has been specially developed to make shutters that are perfect for wet areas such as bathrooms or over kitchen sinks. Faux wood is solid and uses the same painted and grained finishes as our basswood range making it a practical and affordable alternative to real wood.
Our faux wood products use aluminium
re-enforcement to reduce weight and provide increased strength. They are also termite and fire resistant and while they are suitable for wet areas, we do not recommend them for use outdoors.
PVC Plantation Shutters
Made from PVC these shutters are ideal for wet areas, they come with aluminium support rods to re-enforce the blades so are an excellent product.
The PVC is like Faux wood coloured all the way through so scratches and minor damage that may occur over the years will not be apparent.
